CIP optomization
Many wineries, breweries and other beverage producers are under pressure to reduce discharge strength, volume and to improve control of pH and electrical conductivity (EC).
Efficient use of both water and sanitation chemicals will reduce wastewater treatment costs and environmental impact.
Jaytech Design can offer the following services:
1) A detailed survey of current plant sanitation, water consumption and chemical use.
2) Design an effective cost reduction plan that does not compromise sanitation standards.
3) Recommend changes to equipment, operating techniques and software as needed.
4) Supervise implementation and testing of the recommended changes.
Significant savings in water use and chemical consumption can often be achieved by means of advanced programming techniques with limited additional equipment and instrumentation. Cross flow filtration and other membrane technology may be used to clarify and concentrate some sanitation chemicals for reuse.
Wastewater reduction
Wastewater reduction depends on the efficient application of product reclaim, solids separation and CIP optimization. In many cases it is possible to divert the more concentrated waste streams to a separate recovery system that removes much of the solids content before going to conventional pre-treatment and/or discharge to municipal treatment plants or private systems.The product recovery system is installed as a sanitary part of the plant process and CIP system rather than as a conventional DAF solids removal system. Because the system is designed for full sanitation, the solids may be recovered as recyclable material or as animal feed. As a further option, secondary treatment can be achieved by use of ultrafiltration membrane reactors, with tertiary treatment via reverse osmosis to produce reusable potable water.
Process engineering and sanitary pipework design
Jaytech Design provides innovative conceptual and/or detailed design for sanitary process pipework, individual machines and complex processes.
Process equipment and pipework systems are designed to conform to all state and federal sanitary and other regulatory standards. Jaytech Design does not have any contractual relationship with architects, equipment manufacturers or installers. We can recommend companies that we have worked with in the past, but are happy to work with a client’s established suppliers.
Process control and automation
We design, assemble and program industrial control systems. Typical projects include the use of programmable logic controllers, high performance programmable automation controllers, stand alone or networked HMI systems and SCADA systems.Jaytech Design can run in house classes in PLC and HMI programming for your technical and maintenance staff and can provide off-site remote monitoring and software maintenance via secure internet connection.
